Cooking Food as Spirituality Jennifer Tuft,The Mountain Retreat and Learning Center This session focuses on how a close relationship to what we eat has the power to restructure the world in more equitable and ecologically sustaining ways. Achieving this starts with interacting with food as a spiritual practice.
Join Jennifer for a discussion about her journey to becoming a professional chef at a Unitarian Universalist retreat center and how we can turn to food as a grounding reminder in our faith, our community, and ourselves. The process of surrender was an act of faith that Jennifer refers to over and over in her life as a reminder to trust. Through it, she rebuilt her own life on the inspiration of sourdough bread; the rhythm, the building blocks of microbial life, the ancient connection to our ancestors.
Attendees will leave with: 1. Inspiration to hear and trust their inner guidance 2. Giving self permission to form a relationship to their food, no matter what it is 3. Curiosity about what food has to teach us
